ducats - I can tell you this too. The Republicans where I live don't give a F*ck about MY water. I live in a more rural area where everyone has a well. Awhile back they - Republican legislatures exclusively - wanted to lease people's land ( because up here you don't own subsurface rights ) to a company to do coal bed drilling for methane gas. Oh they cited a lot of bogus science how there would be no negative effects. BULLSHIT. Fortunately plenty of NON liberal land owners from outside came up on their own dime and shared all their information on what it did to their land - collapsed it. Wells went bad etc. The fact that they weren't some liberal scientist types helped to persuade regular folks that usually allways go with the condervative plans under the whole " good for jobs" BS.

Guess who brought these people up and led the fight that fought this down? I'll give you a hint: they WEREN'T Republicans.

I'm 99.9% sure you have sub-surface rights - unless you gave them away YOURSELF, or bought the land after a previous owner gave them away - what state are u talking about.

When I bought property in rural Paulden Az 15 years ago, over one of the largest aquifers in North America, I had some of the best water you will ever taste from my well... But my deed clearly stated that I had absolutely no sub-surface rights...
